The Light of the Oracle

This is a great book! I’m only half way through, but it’s so amazing. This is the “about” thing:

A child born to such a calling is often called a dreamer…

Bryn is a humble stonecutter’s daughter, accusomed to being tagged the odd one, the stange girl, the shiftless creature. She is disturbed by visions of things no one else can see, sneered at because she talks to the wind and sky. Why, then, does the village priest think so highly of her?

But the day comes when a spinning thistledown leads Bryn to her destiny-to a place very different from the tiny village where she spent her first fifteen years. She enters the famous Temple of the Oracle, and discovers that her innate gifts make her a terrifying threat to those who seek to abuse the Temple’s power for their own glory.

Though her desires are simple – friendship with other handmaids, and gaining the love of Kiran, a remarkable horse-trainer – she soon finds her path obscured by complex troubles. Struggling to keep the flame of her spirit pure and bright, Bryn must overcome more obstacles than she could ever imagine.

This book is soooo amazing, and even though there isn’t a lot of action (…yet…) it is incredibly suspensful! I mean I’ve read 121 pages in 3 hours. I can’t put it down very easily. (WOOT!) …Yea… ;-) (I’ve now finished it and there was a medium amount of action, and a very good plot. I loved every moment of it!) you should deffinitly read it!

The Two Princesses of Bamare

Adventure, Romance, Fantasy, and more. Love, Battles, Deadly Illnesses, Cleverness, Magic, and more. Humans, Dwarfs, Sorcerers, Gryphons, Dragons, Ogres, and Specters. This story is (mainly) about two princesses, and an adventure that turns a coward into a hero. The princesses names are Meryl who is brave, and seeks adventure, and Adelina (Addie) who is shy and scared of almost everything. Meryl catches the illness called the Gray Death (created by the dragon Yune when she was slain by the warrior Drault), and it has three stages: 1.) Weakness, and it can last anywhere from on day to 5 months  2.) Sleep, and this always lasts 9 days  and 3.) Fever, this always lasts exactly 3 days, then they die (no one has ever lived through it). Meryl has always longed for adventure, but it’s Addie that has to go and find the cure or her sister will die. Addie’s father now has an apprentice sorcerer named Rhys, and he becomes friends with addie. Sorcerers live 500 years, and he was 78, but it is 17 if he were a human. All sorcerers have curly black hair and are very tall. The only way a sorcerer is born is if lightning strikes marble. He helps Addie through her adventures. She starts by finding a specter (they prophesi) when that doesn’t help she looks for a dragon and ends up being captured by Vollys, who is Yune’s daughter. Addie has to keep Vollys entertained to stay alive, but Meryl has entered the second stage, so she only has twelve days to live. Vollys told Addie the cure and Addie somehow escaped, but Meryl only has one more day to live. I’ll stop there. It’s a real page turner, and I couldn’t put it down. It’s very suspensful (for me at least). I hope you read it.
